Picture Book

A children's picture book created for The McMillan Prize 2021, this story follows a girl and her mother as they make their way home from school in Hong Kong. As they travel, the girl's imagination is ignited the magical sights they encounter, allowing her to view the world with fresh eyes. Eventually, her mother embraces this imaginative adventure, discovering the beauty surrounding them. Through this narrative, I aim to highlight the significance of taking a moment to appreciate our surroundings, especially in fast Asian cultures, where it's crucial to remember that everyone moves at their own speed. Life is a beautiful journey meant to be savored at a relaxed pace.
